Description

Todays colorful display of aurora captured from the shore of Qeqertaq. There is again a lot of icebergs on the sea and now it actually starts to show signs of freezing. Yesterday the ship bringing food to this village arrived for the last time and will return again in 5-6 months. In other words, this place is not receiving any food from the outside world for half a year.

This could be the last night of auroras for me here. My helicopter was cancelled on Tuesday due to bad weather but on Saturday is another attempt. I have spent 100 days working and living on this island now and really would enjoy seeing some different places for a change. I have not seen a single car, restaurant, cafe or a house with running water since my arrival in early September.

Qeqertaq, Greenland. An isolated island of 100 people at 70 degrees northern latitude.
